attempted arson
my uncle was charged with attempted arson due to the fact i called the police on him for pooring gasoline around our home. my grandmother is the owner of the house and she doesn't want to press charges. how does she do that through the court system with just a public defender

If your uncle has been charged, the state will proceed with the charges even if your grandmother does not wish to press charges. I am unable to say more based upon the facts presented in the question.
