Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

My company put me on leave because my arrest record was on the Internet

Yesterday I was placed on paid administrative leave for ''my felony charges'' that ''someone alerted the Executive Director about'' and that these records are ''on the Internet''. I have been the Program Director for a year without incident for a non-profit agency. To my knowledge I have only been charged with a felony involving prescription fraud and I have been duly ''booked'' and given a court date in General Sessions. During detainment the magistrate released me on an OR bond.Currently I have not even entered a plea.

So, I have no current or prior convictions in any court system. I have checked every internet site that lists public arrest records without success.

Does anyone have any information or direction concerning this matter? Any help is much appreciated.

Re: My company put me on leave because my arrest record was on the Internet

There are a variety of sources on the internet where someone can find court recprds or sometimes even jail booking records. Where the employer did find the information would seem to make little difference -- it will not chance what HAS happened, or what WILL happen, and you are not in a position to keep those posting such information from doing so again.... and since the information posted was accurate, you also would not be able to win any lawsuit over the posting.

So the most important thing to do is to find an attorney with the criminal defense experience to help you on the criminal charge. Call me at 423-267-4391 if you would like to discuss this further.
