Your stepdaughter is charged with a crime, she needs a lawyer. If convicted, she could be jailed for the offense for which she is charged. In Tennessee, conspiracy is graded 1 level below the substantive offense which is the subject of the conspiracy. An s assault is a class A Misdemeanor, it sounds like your stepdaughter is charged with a B-misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $500.00. In addition, a conviction would be on her record for the rest of her life and used against her in the future. If she is charged as a juvenile, she still may be subject to stiff sanctions and having this charge on her record for the rest of her life.
