Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

Contributing to a minor?

i'm 22 and a friend of mine 21 were goin riding arond 12:00 at night. One of his friends called and asked if she could go riding with us. She is only 16. We asked her if everything was ok with her dad she said it was we pulled up the lights in the house were on and she came out the front door. About 30 min later we get a phone call from a county deputy and find out she had snuck out. But we didnt know. A couple days later her dad signed warrants for our arrest for contributing to a minor. What should we do? Should we plead guilty and see if we can get a light punishment or should we plead not guilty?

Re: Contributing to a minor?

You are charged with a Class A Misdemeanor, a crime punishable by 11 months and 29 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,500.00. A conviction (by plea or by trial) will remain on your record for the rest of your life. You are a young person, and a conviction on your record could result in you loosing certain opportunities and privileges along with your liberty. You need a lawyer.
