What does the term friend of the court mean? How does one become a friend of the court? Are clients required to compensate friends of the court?

A court appointed "seeing eye dog" that investigates and reports back. Usually, the parties are ordered to pay the guardian ad litem {a/k/a friend of the court}. For more info, see www.gsmithlawfirm.com
