Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

First probation violation

I've been on felony probation in tennesse for 3 1/2 years. I had it transfered to alabama and just got arrested on another felony charge in alabama, for something I didn't even know I had on me. Can or will they violate me in tennessee?

Re: First probation violation

Your arrest in Alabama is a violation of your probation in Tennessee, and could lead to a revocation of your probation. The revocation in Tennessee would probably occur after the conviction in Alabama, so it would be to your great benefit if you could beat the Alabama charge. If you are found not guilty of the charge in Alabama, there is a good chance that Tennessee will not revoke you. However, a conviction in Alabama will almost certainly guarantee revocation in Tennessee.

If you have not already hired an attorney for this charge, please do so right away. If you are not careful, you could wind up serving a prison term in Alabama, only to be released to Tennessee to serve another prison term. You need to do everything possible to beat this charge, or at least work out an arrangement to serve any time concurrently with your Tennessee revocation. You need an experienced criminal defense attorney on your side to get you through this difficult situation.
