Re: Statatory Rape

To start with, Statutory rape is an E-Felony. If convicted of Statutory Rape, your range of punishment is 1 to 6 years and you would have to register as a Sex Offender for the rest of your life. In addition, even as a first offense, you could be ordered to serve your sentencing in jail.

YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY

Your statement to police may be subject to suppression, you may not have had the requisite state of mind to be guilty of the crime. You should not speak to law enforcement without a lawyer, and you should not speak to anyone other than a lawyer about this case. Your questions should be directed to your lawyer.
