Im going to court for statatory rape. Im 18 and shes 14. Its my first offense and I admitted to it when the police asked me. her father wants me to goto prison. Is there any chance that I could goto prison? Could anyone please give a general Idea of what might happen to me? Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Statatory Rape
To start with, Statutory rape is an E-Felony. If convicted of Statutory Rape, your range of punishment is 1 to 6 years and you would have to register as a Sex Offender for the rest of your life. In addition, even as a first offense, you could be ordered to serve your sentencing in jail.
YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY
Your statement to police may be subject to suppression, you may not have had the requisite state of mind to be guilty of the crime. You should not speak to law enforcement without a lawyer, and you should not speak to anyone other than a lawyer about this case. Your questions should be directed to your lawyer. If you do not have a lawyer, please contact my office at the number provided on my website (www.TennesseeDefense.com) for a free consultation.
