Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee
Theft of Property Charge
I was recently charged with a Class D felony for theft of property. However, my concern is that I was not the one who committed the crime. I am simply the one who was living at the property and gave access to the property to a family memeber who stole the property. I am wondering what my chances are of getting the case dismissed or the charges lessened when going to court. Also property value assessed by the person was much higher than the actual value of the property. Can anything be done about that?

Re: Theft of Property Charge
There is a good chance that your lawyer will be able to get the charges at least lessened in a plea bargain. Also, if the value of the property is less, that can also be a bargaining position for your attorney.
