what is the time limit, in TN for a grand jury to indict after the arrest?

There is no fixed time limit in Tennessee statutes.
I've had them wait for months, sometimes waiting for laboratory test results, sometimes waiting for an arresting officer to come back from National Guard deployment, sometimes
waiting to wrap up charges against a co-defendant.
It is really up to the Defendant (and zealous defense counsel) to keep pressure on the District Attorney to either promptly present the charges to the grand jury or else seek a dismissal.
