Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee
Trucking Company Wants Criminal Background From Me After 25 Years.
I have applied to a trucking company who is investigating my background. That was ok I told them I had a felony conviction in Texas for transportation over state lines and served 18 months 25 years ago. They ran the check and couldn't find it now they want me to go find thee court papers of when I was convicted. I have moved over 7 times and loss track of everything but my parole number. Can they keep doing this after they have hired me and told me I have to wait to start until they find something. It has been 7 weeks since I was hired? What is the time limit for felony search. only one time conviction. I went on with my life and have to keep repeating the past. I thought when you pay your debt to society you were done. The court even said that my records would probably be sealed. I practiced as a doctor for 25 years and it didn't affect my license, now semi retired the trucking industry is digging it up unsucessfully and stopping me from working? Help what do I do?

Doctor: The Tennesee Department of Corrections, 615/741-532-4693 might be able to give you the Texas Department of Corrections number. There, your TDOC # should allow them to find the necessary judgment forms. If you wish to discuss this matter, contact me via www.gsmithlawfirm.com
