Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

Vehicular Manslaughter

I have a juvenile friend who was drivng a vehicle carrying 2 passengers and crashed. He was charged with vehicular manslaughter, DUI, underage consumption, VOPx6, violation of license, and statuatory rape. He has been locked up since release from the hospital and back and forth to court during this time. My question is what are the average sentence times for the crimes he has committed? He was a juvenile at the time these crimes occurred. All these charges are pending and I would like to know if there is a statute of limitations on any of these charges. I expect some of the charges will be dropped but would like to know the average times for each crime. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Re: Vehicular Manslaughter

There are different statutes of limitations for each charge, but since he has already BEEN charged, the statutes of limitations make no difference in this case. A statute of limitations only requires the state to FILE charges within the allowed period, not to take get the case tried within that period. Additionally, if your friend is a juvenile and CHARGED as a juvenile, the sentence would be vastly different from what it could be as an adult. As to the "average" sentence, it depends on the facts of the case and your friend's background.
