Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Tennessee

Racial Descimination

The company I work for just settled a Racial Descrimination Suit were it paid all of there African Americans so much money(On this paticular Campus Only)During one of our Facility meetings the head of our Campus let it be known that Only the African Americans would be recieving this Money.According to the interviews and some of the legal findings,Caucasians were also Discriminated Against but no money was given to the Caucasian Associates.Now we are being told that our Company is looking at getting rid of the associates who have Taken Medical leave numorous times.I have been with the company for almost 6 Years and have had several surgeries and now I have been diagnosed with Chronic Asthma which causes me to miss work,if I am fired for this do I have a case?

It is possible that you may have a claim for an illegal termination. If you are terminated for your Chronic Asthma. You may have rights which are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act (which prohibits discrimination against "disabled" individuals) and/or the Family and Medical Leave Act (which provides for unpaid leave for a serious health condition).
