Can a dui from one state cause a dui second in another state even if it's your first dui in the second state? First was obtained in Alabama in 2007 second in Tennessee in 2011. Tennessee is pushing to make the charge a dui second offense.

Yes. Tennessee can use proof of a first conviction (up to ten years old) from any state or federal authority to make a first time arrest in Tennessee a "second offense" DUI.
