How do you get a parent put into a nursing home in Tennessee if there is no power of attorney? She will not go live with one of her children and is not capable of making decisions.

If there is no power of attorney, the family may be required to establish a conservatorship for the care of the person in question. The process for establishing a conservatorship is set out in Tennessee Code Title 34, Chapter 3 - you can access this online at the following link:

Once appointed, a conservator can take actions on behalf of the disabled person, including admittance into a nursing home.
I suggest that you consult with any attorney who lives in the same area as the person in question, and who has experience with conservatorships.
