Rescinding ''power of attorney''
A mentally competent elderly friend feels she has
made a terrible mistake by leaving her home to go
to a retirement facility and giving ''power of
attorney'' to a relative.
The relative has put said home up for sale.
Does said friend have any control in the matter?
If not, what must she do to regain control?

Re: Rescinding ''power of attorney''
IF (and only if) she is still mentally competent (which could require some documentation, depending on the circumstances), she should immediately revoke any appointment as attorney in fact (power of attorney) if she is dissatisfied. She should also take steps to communicate the revocation to any relevant third parties.
