Re: can 17 year old leave home

What can a 17 year old child do to liove with his grandparents?

He can wait until he is 18. And if the grandparents care at all about him that is what they will encourage him to do.

While it might be possible to go to court to effect such a change, the cost, the uncertainty, the family conflict, and the fact that the court likely wouldn't decide the matter before the child turned 18 (or so close to it that the decision didn't matter much), make such an effort foolish in most cases.

Part of growing up is learning patience. Another part of it is learning to play the hand life has dealt and to make the best of a situation. The kid can start growing up by waiting until he is 18.

Doing anything to avoid the natural process is likely to cause far more harm in the child's maturization than whatever marginal value it might offer even if successful.
