Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Adoption

Can I do it myself adopting my grandson. Both parents are willing to sign thier rights over to me. I am the maternal grandmother. This little boy was born out of a case of child rape, the father was convicted. I had to find out the hard way about the rights of a convicted child rapist and his rights to a child that he had never supported and the court order the support for last seven years and he has manage to get behind with about 15,000 and i have paid all medical insurance for seven years.

Can he be made to pay back the back child support.

Re: Adoption

Adoptions are a pretty complicated area of law, so while I can't say you could never do it yourself, you will probably have many problems if you aren't familar with it. You can enforce the back child support.
