Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Antenuptial Agreement

I signed an antenuptial agreement in 2/90- just days before we married. The only attorney used was his. I had nobody. How long is this agreement good for in the state of Tennessee. I am in a living hell.....he controls everything. Only he has a checking, savings----he controls EVERYTHING!

He has gone to giving me only $40 a week for all household needs--it's impossible with two teenage sons. I have no money of my own and he is getting worse every day---example: he even told me how to sew my quilt top together- he completely took over. He keeps playing mind games with me and I am desperate for help. You can't call or I would be in danger- you also can't let this be seen by any attorneys in our county- Carroll County Tennessee or he would hurt me. PLEASE HELP ME- I don't even have the money for a lawyer.

Re: Antenuptial Agreement

Let me make sure I understand.

You don't have money for a lawyer, but want legal advice that would require an attorney to actually be there in court in your county for it to make any difference, but you don't want anyone in Carroll county to know you are taking with an attorney.

You need to sort things out and decide what you want to do.

If you want to call me at my office, I will be happy to discuss matters with you, but you are going to have to talk with an attorney.

From what little information you included in your message it would appear that the prenuptial agreement might have some problems that would allow you to possibly have it set aside.... but that is not going to happen without a lawyer and without your hubby knowing you are divorcing him.
