Name Change Question

Hi,

My daughter is 10 now and her biological dad has not been in her life since she was 4 months old. My current husband has been the only father in her life for the past 10 years. I am unable to locate her biological dad. How can I go about legally getting her name changed and or having my husband legally adopt her to change her name when the biological dad can't be located?

There are procedures that you can take to go through the adoption process even without knowing the location of the father. It would be my recommendation to talk to an attorney about proceeding with your case.
