Child Support

According to TN state law, what percentage of income goes toward child support? Is the calculation figured out using before or after-tax income?

Re: Child Support

Child support is no longer based on a percentage of net income of the non-custodial parent. The new child support guidelines requires both parties (primary residential and alternative residential parent)income to calculate the support obligation. Gross monthly income, income prior to any deductions, is used. This model is also used to compute prior support. If you or someone you know needs help with determining what the amount of support should be, you should contact an attorney familiar with the new guidelines. I can help.
