When my child is with me on weekends,do I have to have my ex-wife's permission to let my child spend the night at someone else's home?

Re: Child visitation responsibilities

In Tennesse, generally speaking, unless there are provisions in the court order which first require you to get the permission of the custodial parent before allowing the child to spend the night at someone else's house during visition.... but the more serious question is why would you want to do that?

If you only have the child for your typical, rather brief visitation.... why give up time with your child by having the child spend the night elsewhere? In fact, doing so could allow the mother to later ask the court to restrict your visitation, arguing that you really aren't spending time with the child anyway.
