Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

childs rights @ the age of 11

My stepson just turned 11 in Oct. and he only visits his mother on the weekends. She has liberal visitation rights. She has chosen only to see him on the weekends since the age of two. Does he have the right to say I would rather stay home this weekend without it turning into a major issue between the custodial father and the mother?

Before you do anything different, you need to go back and check the divorce decree or the parenting plan and see what your options are. If you want to change anything, you will have to do it according to one of these documents.
