Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Collecting Child Support

My Ex owes me 55+K in back support. I have never received any money. Just found in my papers that if either party defaults on their obligations, then the other party must pay all attorney fee's. My case was in Florida, he resides in TN I now live in IL, where do I go to find an attorney?

Re: Collecting Child Support

You could file either in Florida in the court where the divorce was granted and he was ordered to pay support or in Tennessee where he now lives. You can't pursue the matter in Illinois because he does not live there and has never subjected himself to the jurisdiction of that state.
