Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Am I common-law and what are my rights?

I have lived with my boyfrined for 13 months. Every time he gets drunk he kicks me out and frankly, I am getting sick of it. I am a painter, and he got me a job THROUGH him, and I have never even seen an actual paycheck. The only thing we have in both our names is car insurance, but I have received mail here for several months. I don't really want to get kicked to the curb with no money and nowhere to go. What can I do?

Tennessee does not recognize common law marriages. Just a bit of personal advice, get a job where you actually get paid and get your own place to live. Good luck.
