Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

consent for adoption

My husband gave consent for his exwives husband to adopt. can my husbands family

get rights to see the child. She keeps calling my motherinlaw and I guess what you

could say is dangling the chil in front of her can she keep calling them like

that consider now adoption procedures are underway what is the law for this.We was hoping for some peace we gave her what she wanted and she still keeps on.One more question their is agreed order of him giving up paternal rights 90 day after the judge sighning we get a civil suit for adoption we were told all they needed for adoption is the paper saying he gave up his right do we have to go back to court?

Re: consent for adoption

Under Tennessee law, the rights of the grandparents and other relatives are derivitive of the parents' rights. Once a parent's rights are gone, so are the rights of the relatives.
