Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee
Contesting Paternity
It seems that my ex-girlfriend is not only married but also pregnant with a child which she insists is mine. Seeing as TN state law makes the husband the default father, do I have any right to contest the paternity? Is there a realistic shot at gaining rights to the child? To complicate matters further I do not live in the same state and it seems that getting Legal Aid might be impossible as well. What are my options?

Re: Contesting Paternity
You need to seek a petition to establish paternity in the state where the girlfriend lives.
