Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

ex defaulted on loan

As part of our divorce papers, I was to be responsible for all outstanding debts except one which my ex agreed to be responsible for paying. The account was a joint account, but the bills were being sent to his home address. Two years later I find out that he has not paid on that debt during the two years. I did not know as I was not receiving the billing. Now, I am being served papers in a civil lawsuit naming just me and his name is nowhere on the papers. I do not work, the house is in my current husband's name, along with any and all real property. Not sure what to expect or what I can do.

Re: ex defaulted on loan

You have a cause of action against your ex for any judgment that is found against you for the debt.
