Desertion
I live in Virginia, my husband retired fron the Navy. On May 22,2003. He packed up his belongings and put it in his car and moved to his home town.
Could he file for divorce in Tennessee, and how long will it take before he could file. He has no grounds but he deserted me? What are my rights?

Your husband can file for divorce in Tennessee as soon as he meets the residency requirements
of that state(if he's not already a resident, having maintained that status while in the military) and has been living separate and apart from you, continuously, for the amount of time required under Tennessee's divorce statutes, which is probably six months to a year.
If you're a legal resident of Virginia and have facts sufficient to prove abandonment as one of the statutory fault grounds for divorce in Virginia, you could file your case, immediately, with no waiting period.
