Domestic violence/assault
if someone is charged with domestic violence/assault
and they are getting a lawyer to get the charges reduced what is the least they can have it reduced to?

Depends entirely on what the prosecuting attorney is willing to do. If the case is weak, some prosecuting attorneys will dismiss the charges entirely, others might want at least a guilty plea to disordely conduct.
Most prosecuting attorneys will not reduce these charges unless the case is weak, the defendant has no prior record, and the victim has no objections.
A defendant in these cases always needs to be ready for trial, with the defendant and attoreny prepared to BEAT the charge if there is no plea agreement.
