Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Emancipation

I just turned 17 April 13, and in a couple of months I'm planning on going to court to have myself emancipated. I currently have a steady job and I have bills that I pay for on my own (i.e. cell phone, car insurance, my own clothes, and food). I want to know what my chances are of a judge granting me emancipation.

Re: Emancipation

I have been asked this question many times and I do not know the answer. In fact, last week I asked the chief legal counsel in the Juvenile Court in my county if there is a procedure for a voluntary emancipation and he said the only way he knows of emancipation is marriage. IF you go to court, I would be very interested to hear what the judge says about your petition. Please fill me in. Thanks and good luck.
