Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Ex-wife owens my children

During my divorce I lost custody of my children somehow.My ex-wife dated her attoney during this time. But anyway what my Question is! why do I have so much trouble trying to get custody or even vistation with my children? My lawyers never get that far with it.I am current on all child support obligations.Why can't I get joint custody? I have never hurt or harmed my children but yet I always get beat down. Amd get no custody.
