Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee
where do I file??
I am trying to figure out where to file for custody of my son. He currently lives in Tenn with his grandmother, although he is a Texas resident, I am in Colorado and his mother is in Korea. I recently took a DNA test to prove he was my son but I do not know what state I am suppose to file for custody in. Can I file for emergency custody??

Re: where do I file??
Your question is much to complex to look for an answer on the internet. As a general rule the case would be filed in the state where the children have lived for the past 6 months. However, there are numerous exceptions to this rule. Such as is there a guardianship filed in TN. You want to file in the state where you live if that is possible.
