Final Divorce Decree

My mom & dads final divorce decree says that I am irrevocable beneficiary of life insurance from his former company. He just died recently and I have found out he change it to his new wife the year after the divorce. Who should get the money.

I can only urge you to hire a lawyer to look into this. You may very well have a right to these funds. If you do not act quickly, however it may be too late becuase the $ may be distributed and gone. In other words even though you may have a legal (or equitable) right to the insurance proceeds, practically speaking if the second wife gets the money and spends it you may have no way of enforcing your rights.
