Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Forced Child Name Change?

Unwed pregancy resulted in the mother having the child alone as a resident of Tennessee. The space for the father's name on the birth certificate was left blank and the child has the mother's last name. The child is under 2 years old and the biological father has recently come back into the picture. Can the mother be forced to change the child's last name to that of the biological father against her wishes if paternity is proven by the biological father?
