Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee
Foster care
My father has been fighting for custody of a relative for 3.5 years. He was awarded custody and given the right to proceed with adoption when she was 7 months old. After 5 weeks in his custody he was ordered to return her to her former foster mother in another state and was told it was because she was in emininent danger. There have been 2 sets of investigations in the past 3 years and all of them have been deemed false allegations with no supporting evidence. In both occasions the foster mother has had ex parte conversations with the judges to get them to reverse prior decisions and place the child back with her. Now a forensic Psychologist has been involved and they state that there is no evidence of abuse yet the child is still not in my fathers custody. Is there any way to fight this?

Re: Foster care
There are ways of fighting such cases, but the approaches will depend on the specific details of the case. I hope your father has an experienced, aggressive attorney who is not afraid to upset the applecart or offend anyone. If so he needs to work closely with that attorney. If not, he needs to find one.
