guradian ad litem failed to advocate for the child, and has provided legal services and advice to the mother for contempt of court and custody issues, how do I have them removed

The GAL was appointed by the court so they can only be removed by the court. Talk with your lawyer. A motion made to the court for removal is what you will need. It will need to be supported by GOOD evidence the GAL was not an advocate for the child. Providing legal services and advice for the mother is a very serious issue that will need to be backed up with good evidence.
