Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee
Husband thinks he's has one over on me
My husband and I were married in 1999, I was only 17 at the time. We were in the process of building our home, which was not completed until after we were married. Due to two previous relationships he has two children which at that time, he owed back child support, so the deed was put in both his parents and his name. we are also now in the process of building our second home which is only in mine and his name. He now states he wants me to leave and I can't have any thing, because our current home is in his parents and his name and I have no rights to it. Even though I have soley paid the utilities and house insurance for almost 9 years. What rights do I have? we have a child together and he now has custody of his two children. He states he is going to change the locks and put my stuff out can he legally do this?

You probably have a right to your share of the first home. You do need to file for divorce if that is the direction you are headed because there will be an injunction automatically put in place preventing him from doing a lot of the things he is trying to do.
