Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

I am on my third lawyer in a nasty divorce. We are divorced now but my second lawyer made a few mistakes. He marked the box to pay child support 2 times a month instead of every 2 weeks which short my kids 888.00 a year from the child support worksheet. My third lawyer, the one I have now brought it to my second lawyers attention and my husbands lawyers attention and they both said too bad for me and the kids but they would not do anything about it.My second lawyer, who is the one who was with me for the divorce and drew up the papers also said he would do the QDROS for 500.00 and that my husband would split the cost of doing the QDROS with me but that he would only have to pay 500.00.My new lawyer said that was the cost of one QDRO and we have 6 to do,so now I am out 888.00 in child support and 5000.00 in QDRO fees and then......I paid my second lawyer 5000.00 for the divorce,he just quit my case since I moved and now billed me for another 2980.00,,,,and he made all those mistakes that I am now paying another lawyer my third one to fix......what are my options here,,,,I am amazed the second lawyer would have the nerve to bill me more money...my third lawyer has talked to him about this and he is just being difficult...any helpful advice would be appreciated...I have run out of money with 4 kids and no help for the last year on child support

The easiest solution is for your new attorney to file a Rule 59 or 60 Motion to Alter or Amend or for a New Trial on the child support question. This could be time-barred, however, so consult with your new attorney about this. Additionally, you have the option of filing a complaint against the second lawyer. You can also sue to recover whatever damages you can prove were caused to you by the second lawyer. But I am concerned; you must have signed the child support papers, too, if this was a Tennessee divorce. So you may not have much that you can justifiably complain about.
