Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee
Legal Seperation
I have been seeing a woman that left her husband two months ago, and legally both have signed and filed their divorce papers. Her soon-to-be ex-husband has learned of our new relationship, and has said if she doesn't stop seeing me she and their daughter will regret it. I don't contact her when she has her daughter as not to confuse the little girl, but can he do anything to their divorce arangement at this point? She is frightened and is considering getting a restraining order. Does he have any legal ground to take her daughter because off our relationship?

Re: Legal Seperation
If he makes threats of physical harm against you, your friend or the daughter, any of you can get an order of protection. If she was not truthful about her relationship with you prior to entering an agreement with her husband, he might ask the judge to set aside the agreement based on fraud. Otherwise the agreement will likely control.. She needs to consult her attorney about this , though.
