Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Locked out of my own home

I have been seperated from my wife for about a month now, and am pursuing a divorce. As soon as I told her about going to see a lwayer, she changed the locks on our house. I am not currently living there, but I am still paying for the home and most of my things are still there. I have tried to talk to her, but she will not hear anything of it. Does she legally have a right to lock me out of a house that I am still playing for?

Re: Locked out of my own home

Greetings -

No. Your wife legally does not have a right to

lock you out of the house. You have to be

careful that she does not set you up for a

charge of domestic violence/stalking, etc. You

need to get into court for the purpose of asking

a judge for a remedy. Right now, you are at

risk. I will be happy to answer any additional

questions that you might have.
