What does majority rule & minority rule mean in Legal Guardianship?

I read about Legal Guardianship, Grandparent Caretakers and the article mentions majority and minority rule several times. What do those terms mean?

Majority rule; Minority rule

Finally an easy question (for a lawyer)! In legal reference books, the words "majority rule" refer to the fact that the rule/law they are describing is the law in the MAJORITY OF STATES (in the U.S.). The Minority Rule is, correspondingly, the rule in a minority of states in the U.S. It's as simple as that.

Majority/Minority Rule

Darn! Attorney Friend already answered a question that even I can answer!

He is correct: Majority means majority of jurisdictions (could also be Federal courts, I suppose), minority means the minority of jurisdications.
