Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Not married ....joint custody

My son and his girlfriend live together. She is pregnant, Is it possible for my son to have joint custody, in the event that they don't get married and things don't work out for them? He wants to be apart of this child's life in everyway. She would be the type to take off with the child if things didn't work out. He wants to be able to help make decisions with the childs life.

Re: Not married ....joint custody

Yes, under Tennessee law he can get joint custody... but he is going to have to go to court to get it.

Have him talk with an attorney so things can be in place when the child is born.
