Mentally Unstable Suicidal Mother

Confused on what to do. My son's ex girlfriend, with whom they have 8 mo child is very unstable. Few years back she shot herself in suicide attempt. She gets xanxes from her mother and really gets suicidal. One day she held a knife to her throat. They are now spit up due to her violent outbursts. I want to call someone for the safety of child as they split up because at 3am she was stomping around screaming cuss words at baby cause he wouldn't sleep. Then screamed at him about thanks for breaking daddy and me up. I did record one conversation where she talked about taking the pills and holding the knife but there is alot of noise on the tape and can barely hear it. Her mother and her will deny any allegations and say its being made up. I'm scared of what could happen if I do report it or what could happen if I don't. If I do they will retaliate big time. She is very emotionally unstable and now lives with child alone with no one to make sure she don't harm the baby. Any advice?
