Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

modification of alimony

my husband now pays permanent alimony in amount of $1,175 and child support of $215 a week. Not to be disturbed by marriage or death. Is there anyway to have this dropped. Just the alimony not the child support. The agreement of alimony was so exwife could reside at the residence to pay house payments and ammenities. We were led to believe by ex that it was against her religion to remarry. But she has recently done so. Now we are stuck paying our rent her alimony as well as house payment that is still in husbands name.

Re: modification of alimony

Your question is not clear. I believe you are saying that the decree states that the alimony does not terminate upon the ex-wife's re-marriage or death. Obviously that makes no sense. If she dies she will not need alimony. You may wish to double check the terms of the agreement.
