Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Notification due non-custodial parent of extra-curricular activities

Is there any law in TN that states I have to let my ex-husband know every time the children have a Sunday School activity? He sent me a note saying TN house bill 3163, Public Acts of 2000, chapter 885, section 36-6-101 states that I have to notify him 48 hrs in advance of everything. I already notify him of anything that amounts to any importance, but I don't feel their having a swimming party, etc. is of much importance. Can you tell me what this law (or bill) states? Thank you.

The general Parental Rights Act requires you to inform him of the big stuff, but not every nit-picky thing that comes up. If he is honestly that interested, I would encourage it, but I tend to agree with Bill Poland, it sounds like games are being played. For more info, see www.gsmithlawfirm.com

I do not know of anyting in the law that requires such notice to your ex-husband. However, there possibly could be an Order of the court that has been entered that would require similar types of notice.....however, you would have been made aware and provided a copy of any such Order.....I think your ex is playing games with you......
