Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Obtaining sole custody of my daughter

I have joint custody of my 12 year old daughter. At the time we divorced my husband wasn't made to pay support. I want to get married and move to another state. How do I go about getting sole custody of my daughter?

In Tennessee, and in most other states, you simply return to court and file a Petition to Modify, setting out the reasons the custody order should be changed.... but be forwarned that change is NOT automatic.
