Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

opposite sex children; 1 bedroom

Ok. Friend getting divorced(male). Exwife has all kids in 1 bedroom (no actual beds), maybe cots or air mattress. Could this help him in any way to gain custody of the kids(that want to be with him). Is there any law against this? Kids are in TN. She also has moved 5 times in less than 1 year...her instability issues that may help him??
