Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Power of Attorney

My mother is 77 yo and suffers, among other things, from Altzheimer's Disease. She is visiting my sister in another state and is quite ill. We've just discovered her husband was giving her large amounts of codiene. He claims he didn't know she was allergic to it. We are trying desperately to get her some medical help and running into all kinds of walls. Can we get a Power of Attorney in one state when she has a husband in another? They have been married 6 years. And, how do we get her Dr. in California to give us contact info for her neurologist in CA. Her husband claims he doesn't know the phone numbers.

Re: Power of Attorney

Contact an attorney in CA. to get an emergency order for care (guardianship or conservatorship). The Court can appoint a Guardian ad Litme on an emergency basis. You could also try the State where she is visiting
