Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Pregnant minor

My daughter became pregnant at 16 and is now 17, she is due Nov. 22nd. I was wanting to know if I had the right to decide who is at the hospital and in the delivery room. The father is a thug and I would really rather him and his family not be there. Also do I have a legal right to make him pay half of medical expenses?

Re: Pregnant minor

Whether you CAN exclude him from the hospital (which I sort of doubt) is less important than whether you SHOULD.

He is the child's father. What you are talking about doing would cause far more harm in the form of bitterness and hostility between you and your grandchild's father than it ever could cause good.

I strongly urge you to re-evaluate your intention.

Re: Pregnant minor

Your daughter is a minor, so you can inform the hospital that you want to exclude the boyfriend from the delivery room. You can also file suit against the boyfriend to pay for half of the delivery expenses.
